CDU appreciates the economic hardship that tuition sometimes causes for those who wish to pursue a
university education. As a non-profit university, we are committed to keeping our tuition as low
as possible, recognizing that many of our students are motivated by a desire to serve the Church.
Tuition
Tuition is set by the Board of Trustees and is subject to change without notice. Tuition for all courses and
programs is accepted in U.S. currency only. Tuition for continuing education courses are $135 a course.
Undergraduate courses cost $227 a credit hour.
Graduate courses are $369 a credit hour.
Tuition may be paid with Master Card, Visa, Discover Card, or American Express, debit cards bearing one
of the previous credit card logos, check, or money order. CDU does not bill for tuition, except for pre-approved third-party payments (contact the Business Office for pre-approval).
Note: CDU is not financially supported by the Church; our tuition reflects the cost of providing high
quality, accredited academic programs. CDU's tuition is still quite a bit lower than many Catholic
universities.
Payment Plans
For individual courses, most students pay tuition in full at time of enrollment. However, CDU offers,
however, a three-month payment plan for Undergraduate and Graduate single-course enrollments. CDU
does not bill for tuition. Payment plans must be paid by debit or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American
Express or Discover). On or about the 15th day of each month, additional installments will be charged
automatically to your credit card.
Students with CDU financial obligations at the completion of a course or a degree program will not be
awarded a degree, transcript or course completion certificate until all financial obligations are met.
TERI Guaranteed Loan Programs
Students accepted into the Masters Degree Program, Bachelor's Degree Completion Program, or the Catechetical Diploma Program are eligible for participation in the TERI guaranteed loan program. Interested students should visit www.teri.org to access online applications or they may call 1-800-255-TERI and select option 2 to speak to a customer service representative.
DANTES
CDU participates in the tuition assistance program managed by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support (DANTES). Eligible service members should consult their Education Office and DANTES' DETC Catalog for CDU's course offerings. Chaplains' Assistants and related personnel will find CDU's programs beneficial for their professional development.
Veterans' Education Benefits
CDU has been approved to provide training and education to eligible persons enrolled in its Master of Arts Degree program, and the undergraduate prerequisite courses for this degree program.
Students eligible for VA benefits should call VA at 1-888-442-4551 for information. The Graduate Registrar at CDU can certify an enrollment for GI Bill benefits only upon enrollment in a course and not at the time of application for a Master's Degree program. Those students taking the prerequisite courses will have these enrollments certified by the Undergraduate Registrar. Please note on the enrollment form that you are eligible for VA benefits and include your VA file number. For further information, contact the Graduate Registrar at CDU.

Veteran's (GI Bill) Benefits
Students eligible for Veteran's (V.A.) benefits should call 1-888-442-4551 for information. The Graduate
or Undergraduate Registrar can certify an enrollment for V.A. benefits only upon actual enrollment in a
course and not at the time of application for a Master's degree program. Please note on the enrollment form
that you are eligible for V.A. benefits and include the file number assigned to you by the V.A.
V.A. benefits will also cover both prerequisite courses, such as The Catechism of the Catholic Church and
Philosophy for Theology. Because V.A. benefits are available for only a limited period of time, students
taking advantage of GI Bill benefits are strongly encouraged to complete each course within six (6) months
or less. V.A. students will be allowed benefits for a maximum of nine (9) months to complete each course.
Extensions beyond nine months will be the financial responsibility of the student.
Benefits are available for the duration of the active enrollment in the course. Benefits end when a course is
completed or after 9 months, whichever occurs first. For a non-completed course, the last date an
assignment was received will be reported to alert the V.A. to the last date of attendance. At this point the
student will be responsible for reimbursing the V.A. for benefits paid from the last date of attendance to
the course expiration date (or the last date benefits were received). Non-completed courses will
automatically receive the current cumulative grade or a failing grade, whichever is higher.
For V.A. students: enrollment in one (1) paper-based six-to-nine-month course is considered less than half-
time study; enrollment in two (2) paper-based six to nine-month courses constitutes half-time study;
enrollment in one semester online course is considered half-time study. For specific benefits information
clarification, contact the CDU Graduate or Undergraduate Registrar.
