New Nuncio to Attend CDU Gala


Bishop Paul Loverde, bishop of the Diocese of Arlington, has just announced that Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, new Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, will attend the CDU Gala to accept the Founders Award presented posthumously to Archbishop Pietro Sambi. The Archbishop will also be the primary celebrant at the Academic Convocation Mass at 5:00 p.m., held as part of the Gala event. CDU is honored to have the Archbishop at the Gala which will be his first public function in the US as Nuncio.

CDU's Gala honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the university. Also honored at this year's event are Joe and Bertha Braddock for their service to the university as long-term benefactors.

Gala activities include a student, faculty, and alumni Lunch at Noon, an Academic Convocation Mass at 5:00 pm, a Cocktail Reception at 6:30pm, followed by a black-tie dinner, awards, and dancing.
