This plan allows a diocese to subsidize tuition for noncredit online courses and seminars by paying a $2,000 annual fee. Noncredit online courses and seminars are then offered to members of your diocese at a lower tuition rate of $30 which is paid by the student. The basic plan allows a total of 30 enrollments per agreement year. If a basic subsidy partner reaches 30 enrollments during the agreement year, the diocese has two choices:
- Interim Option One lets the diocese pay an additional subsidy of $2,000 and have unlimited enrollments (the student still pays $30 per seminar/course).
- Interim Option Two allows the diocese to purchase additional enrollments for $66 each, with the student still paying $30 at the time of enrollment. For this option, at the end of the DBSP agreement period, CDU will invoice the diocese for any additional enrollments over and above the original 30.
Subsidy partners also receive a portal on the CDU website containing information about what courses and seminars at CDU match diocesan requirements for catechetical certification, diaconate training, or any other certification programs. This plan can be used at the diocesan, parish, Catholic school, or group level.
