Tuition and program Fees

As a nonprofit university, CDU is committed to keeping our tuition as low as possible, recognizing that many of our students are motivated by a desire to serve the Church. CDU is not financially supported by the Church. Our tuition - which reflects the cost of providing high quality, accredited academic programs -- is one of the lowest graduate and undergraduate tuition rates of all Catholic online university.

Flexible payment options

Tuition may be paid with Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express, debit cards bearing one of the previous credit card logos, check, or money order. CDU does not bill for tuition, except for pre-approved third-party payments. Please contact the finance office for pre-approval.


Schedule of tuition and fees

* All students enrolled in a graduate, undergraduate or Catechetical Diploma course (online or paper-based) pay an annual fee of $165. The fee is payable in the month of February for all students enrolled as of January 31 of that year. Students enrolling in a course after January 31 of each year pay the annual fee in the month following their enrollment. The fee is charged to the student's credit card on file.

** Students are encouraged to enroll early. Enrollments that are received 7 or less days before the start of the trimester will be charged this late fee.

Tuition is set by the Board of Trustees and is subject to change without notice. Tuition for all courses and programs is accepted in U.S. currency only.

Withdrawing From a Course or a Program
A student may terminate enrollment in an individual course at any time by notifying the university; however, a student is advised to do so in writing for his or her own protection. Refunds will be granted on request, according to the program satisfactory policy. Written withdrawal request should be sent to the appropriate registrar at The Catholic Distance University, 120 East Colonial Highway, Hamilton, VA 20158. To view CDU's satisfaction and refund policy
