Rev. Msgr. Dariusz J. Zielonka, JCL

 

Monsignor Dariusz J. Zielonka is a native of Poland.  After finishing elementary school and lyceum begun his preparation to the priesthood at the archdiocesan seminary in Łódz, Poland. After being invited to continue his studies in the USA, he attended Orchard Lake Seminary in MI for one year of language and then continued theology at Saint Charles Seminary in Wynnewood (Philadelphia) for the Diocese of Bridgeport, CT.   He was ordained a priest by, then, Bishop Edward Egan in 1995.  Served at Saint James and Saint Aloysius parishes of the Diocese of Bridgeport.  In 2002, Bishop William E. Lori asked him to become the Priest Secretary to the Bishop and the Vice Chancellor of the Diocese, in which position he served for seven years.  At that time he was also involved in the process of expansion of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic lay organization to Poland.  In 2009 Bishop Lori delegated him to studies of canon law at the Catholic University of America.  He obtained the J.C.L. degree in July 2011 and currently is in the process of finishing his doctorate in the same discipline.
