Meet CDU faculty

Robert Miller, SFO, PhD
Dr. Robert D. Miller, II is currently an associate professor of Old Testament at Catholic University of America. Having earned his BA from Kent State University, and an MA in Biblical and Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan, Dr. Miller took graduate courses in Biblical Studies, Greek, Theology, and Church History from Catholic University of America and then returned to University of Michigan to obtain his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible.
Dr. Miller has done extended studies in Mariology from the University of Dayton, has taught at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD where he was also chair of the department of Sacred Scripture. He has published Chieftains of the Highland Clans: A History of Israel in the 12th and 11th Centuries BC, and edited Syriac and Antiochian Exegesis and Biblical Theology for the 3rd Millennium. Not only is he a teacher, writer, and speaker of Biblical topics, but he has been a retreat Master, a consultant for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and has shared his Scriptural and archaeological research with a variety of associations and universities.
Dr. Miller is a secular Franciscan and is married to Anne Marie with four sons. He is a popular instructor for CDU seminars—among these: The Psalms: Israel's Prayer and Ours, Introduction to Genesis, and The Prophets and Morality. CDU is most grateful to Dr. Miller for sharing his time and expertise with us throughout the next three weeks.
