CDU Student Christopher RickettsRecent Grad Reflects on the Value of a
CDU Education

Graduate Christopher E. Ricketts recently earned his BA degree in Theology. “The degree completion program was perfect because it allowed me to finish what I had already started,” he says. Christopher was able to apply the general education credits he had earned at another university toward his degree requirements, and he was able to use his GI Bill benefits to finance his education.

“I am deeply grateful for these last two years at CDU,” he says.

CDU Christian CivilizationOffered in Fall II

HUM 252. Christian Civilization is the second of two undergraduate survey courses that cover Western and modern history. Join Dr. Charles Rieper on a journey through the development of Western Civilization from the flowering of the medieval epoch to the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery.

The course will explore the High Middle Ages -- an era justifiably termed the Age of Faith --  to the start of the of the Renaissance, the shattering of Christian unity in the Protestant Reformation, and the time of the great explorations.

ENG 110. Introduction to Literature for Theology is an exciting new course that teaches the basics of reading, interpreting and classifying stories and understanding what gives good literature its enduring power. The course is also designed to rekindle the lost art of literary imagination and to teach Catholics how to harness the power of stories to understand and share the faith in meaningful and effective ways to a world that, despite its best efforts, cannot escape from suffering, doubt and longing for meaning and beauty.
